Rocky was an older dog adopted through San Diego Pug Rescue. It seemed like a good idea to give Poco a friend to play with, but he and Rocky were always slightly suspicious of each other. Rocky could never rest while Poco ruled, and was too nervous to stay on our laps, lest Poco run amok while his guard was down. Barking a worried signal whenever Poco played with his toys or enjoyed a quiet meal, Rocky neglected his own food in favor of his assumed duties.
On the other hand, when there were no other dogs around Rocky was a shameless cuddler where humans were concerned. His passing was a blow that I'll never recover from.

Always the daredevil, Rocky liked to live life on the edge. One of his favorite sports was riding in the clothes dryer.
Wounded in the line of duty, this was one of the few opportunities Rocky took for some "down time."
When Rocky was happy, he let you know it with a wide grin and a wag of his tail. Smile and the world smiles with you.
Rocky was a dapper dresser, and enjoyed being seen about town in his favorite striped shirt. |
